Lavinia Nereides
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* Pretender to the Throne *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Previously a mid-level commander in the Garlean 1st Legion, Lavinia rem Nereides faced the loss of her home, life, and rank in the chaos leading up to the Final Days. Acutely aware that there would be no winners in any conflict, despite those above her seeming weak and distracted by their infighting - she was in no position to overtake them. With no other options open to her, she made the difficult decision to leave her home behind and head south with whoever of her cohort would follow, hoping to preserve at least some of Garlemald's strength - a decision that would soon prove prescient. Taking up residence in Ishgard, she shed her title and any markings of her true identity, save for her gunblade. She currently makes her living in adventuring, using her commanding presence to lead inexperienced adventurers through their expeditions in return for a cut of the profits. As a believer in the strength of the Garlean system and its power to unite many diverse people under one rule - whether they like it or not - she intends to return home and restore her nation to what she believes is its rightful position above all others - with herself on the throne, of course.

Personal Details
Scarlet eyes peer at the world, like rubies set into her head. Her features are sharp and striking, as if carved from stone. A single braid of her brushed vermillion hair hangs aside her face, with her pale, pointed ears poking out from behind. Two turquoise feathers dangle from them each, suspended by a thin, almost ethereal silver thread looped through a piercing. Her build is slim, though thoroughly toned. Covering it is a refined set of light armour, golden plates over her midsection and shoulders, affixed to a flowing dark leather coat bearing painstakingly stitched needlework. A pristine white bear pelt lines its inside, offering warmth and comfort in all weather. A number of ornamental pieces and a handful of gems are scattered along its length, and a crimson sash lies draped over it all. Attached to her back is her gunblade, visibly of Garlean design. Its blade is both narrower and longer than most gunblades, more akin to a long bayonet on a rifle. She smells faintly of rose water and gunpowder, speaking in a deep, silken voice that commands respect and attention.
Personality
Composed, exacting, and unfailingly polite - she measures people quickly and doesn't waste effort on those she finds wanting. Carries herself like someone used to being obeyed and rarely disappointed. She forms her opinions of people in the first five minutes and rarely revises them. She does not lose her temper or raise her voice, she gets quieter and more precise the angrier she is. She remembers slights for years, and values competence above almost everything. Loves to be right, especially when someone else is wrong. She is intensely proud, and the wounds she carries are secret even from those she trusts. She has a dry wit she does not use on strangers. With those who have earned her time, she's patient and attentive - though she'll never say she's fond of you. She expects you to notice the difference. Loyal to the few who meet her standards, and contemptuous of those who don't.
Hooks
Find her. During the day, she frequents bookstores, art galleries, and fine restaurants. Most evenings, she can be found in taverns, quietly observing with a pot of tea and a book whose cover she won't show you. Approach if you have business - or if you don't, and find out how patient she is.Imperial bearing. She carries herself like a soldier, speaking briefly and plainly in words that land like an order. She habitually keeps one hand on the hilt of her gunblade - of plainly Imperial make. Those who served or lived through occupation may recognize her bearing for what it is, though she won't acknowledge it in public. Whatever she is, she clearly hasn't been away for long.Hire her. She takes contracts leading parties of green adventurers - escorts, surveys. Standard rates, paid on completion, plus an additional half if the contract goes wrong through the client's fault. Expect a thorough discussion before she accepts, and a colder one if you fail her on the job.Rarities. She's a known buyer of Doman antiquities, Garlean arms, old maps, works of art, and rare books. Anything bearing an Imperial seal will catch her attention immediately. She will pay well for the right items, and ask few questions about their origin. What she wants with any of it, she does not say.Shared tastes. Ask her about a work of art or an example of fine craftsmanship, and you'll find her almost forthcoming, by her standard. She has a particular interest in Doman works and religious art and iconography - though she has strong opinions, and will share them freely. She loves a good disagreement.Closer ground. Trust and affection are not in her nature. There have been exceptions, for those who proved themselves worthy. To them, she's another person entirely. Unguarded, consistent, almost warm, with a strikingly dry wit - those few would tell you it was worth the cost. But neither comes cheaply, and neither comes soon.

OOC Information
Hi, welcome to my site thing, I'm the unknowable eldritch horror behind Lavinia. I'm open to most forms of RP, I have 11 years of experience in RP communities, in WoW and other games, have run my own communities and set up large scale RP events. If I'm AFK, I'm probably not there - but feel free to whisper me anyway, I always see them at some point. I'm usually doing content when I'm online, but I'm always happy to break for some RP. I'm in Europe, and +6 hours from most Crystal players - scheduling might be a little rough.I'm good for walk-ups and prefer para. In-game RP strongly preferred. Looking for long-term RP, character-driven conflict, political intrigue, anything slow-burn, and dark themes handled with care. Romance is possible for women after long-term IC development, and I'm comfortable writing tasteful intimacy - but I don't do ERP, fade to black only.
